Latest We were recently asked to suggest suitable sculptors to produce trophies for the Nando's restaurant chain. The brief was to use sustainable material to recreate the restaurant's cockerel logo in a quirky and fun way. They selected Martin Adamson from our suggested list and we are pleased to show the result here. Many congratulations Martin. ![]() |

Morrigan’s evolving exhibition was shown in our main gallery space in
March. Adam incorporates road kill into work that is about our
relationship with the living environment, our impact upon it and our
responses to the cycle of life and death. His creations dignify the salvaged remains of dead animals by poignantly re-presenting them as art. Tim Green exhibited here last
year in his solo show 'Something and Nothing' and Tim's DVD can still be
seen (and copies purchased) here at Quedgeley. Much of the work on show at Sabre is by artists David Hughes and Jackie John. David's main interest is painting, but some of his drawings can be viewed on this site. Jackie's work ranges from abstract to figurative, taking her themes from suggestions within the paint itself. The Merchants Quay exhibition has now finished and demolition of the site is under way. The 12 foot by 8 foot community painting 'Family Trees - 1000 Hands' (made by over 1000 children & adults) and the Gloucester Memory Wall, incorporating our 'Postcards from Gloucester' project is now on display in King's Walk in Gloucester City Centre. Sabre Art and Gloucester Art Trail Calendar 2009 to 2010 Life Drawing sessions in association with Modelled Me UK. We rolled back the studio walls for several life drawing and painting workshops in 09. Next dates for 2010 are :- not yet finalised (sorry about that, check out www.modelled.me.co.uk because their info will be up sooner than ours) These day long workshops (10am till 4pm) are untutored but follow a structured pattern, led by inspiring, professional life models. Every artist or student is guaranteed a clear sight-line to the model, so places are limited. The cost for each session is just £30. Easels, back-boards and refreshments are included in the price and there is free on-site parking (bring your own easel and board if you prefer). Participants will need to bring their own materials and lunch. The studio is on the first floor and has no lift, so please check before booking if you have limited mobility. Modelled Me run sessions at other venues that may be more suitable for those with disabilities. If you would like to book a place for either (or both) of the workshops, please contact courses@modelled.me.uk or mail@sabreart.co.uk | |
