Previously a Modern Linguist and College Lecturer, with mountaineering occupying much of my spare time, I have turned to Art in my retirement, and am currently working from my own studio. Drawing, printmaking and painting are my main interests. I like to use a variety of media, both singly and mixed, and draw my inspiration mainly from travels and love of the outdoors. Texture, colour and form all fascinate me and influence my choice of medium. The sense of freedom I experience in the mountains and all wild places, even in the not so wild countryside nearer home in Gloucestershire, my fascination for openness of the ocean and for the dry warmth of the Mediterranean landscape, my love of trees and all plant life and the ever-changing seasons, plus my interest in Modern and Contemporary Art all contribute to my choice of subject. I am currently exhibiting at Sabre Art in Quedgeley, Gloucester.
